With Excel it is possible to import/export data quickly and easily. Very useful, for example, to adjust large amounts of data. Or to import complete tag lists, which are exported from another system. This way you will be able to use the familiar functionalities of Excel.
It is possible to import/export data with Excel from different screens in Typical Manager. When exporting, columns that are not needed can be omitted. You can save the Excel file to a location of your choice.
When importing an Excel file, the data is automatically validated. Values that are duplicated or cannot be imported are colored. Just like new or changed values. You can filter by these colors with a few clicks to quickly get an overview of what has changed. This overview with colors can then be exported to Excel.
When opening a tag list with Excel, not only new and duplicate tags are detected, but also expired tags. These are tags that are present in the Typical Manager project, but not in the imported Excel list. In case of an expired tag, a choice can be made to keep, remove or replace the tag with a new one.
