Typical Manager has a powerful interface with AutoCad Plant 3D with which P&IDs can be compiled. Objects and data from the P&IDs can be used as input for Typical Manager. The integration provides a major quality boost and ensures that various Excel lists no longer have to be filled in by hand.
The P&ID is a document that is made at an early stage of a project. This serves as the basis for various disciplines during the project, such as mechanical, hardware and software engineering. Autocad P&ID is part of the Autocad Plant 3D toolset that is used for the design of process installations. During the design of a P&ID, many choices are already made that are essential for the detailed engineering of the control design.
The integration between Autocad P&ID and Typical Manager makes it possible to use the available data as a basis for the detailed engineering. In Typical Manager, the data can then be enriched with hardware and software specific data or choices after which output can be generated. Think of reports (FAT, SAT, IO lists, etc.), electrical diagrams and software.
For this solution the data manager in Autocad P&ID is used. The data manager makes it possible to write the custom data from Typical Manager back to Autocad P&ID. Furthermore, it is possible to automatically change the symbol when the embodiment of the part changes when re-importing the data into the P&ID.
