Generate software to TIA Portal based on XML and/or SCL files? With Typical Manager you can do this in a fast and efficient way by using TIA Openness scripter or Version Control Interface. *this can be done without any programming knowledge!

MANAGE THE SOURCE

Manage the source code/library building blocks in TIA Portal; the environment where PLC code belongs. You can then export this source code to XML or SCL via TIA Openness. To do this, use the TIA Openness Scripter or the Version Control Interface. In a few clicks you can convert function blocks, data building blocks or PLC tags into XML files.

XML TYPICALS

By making variable XML files, they can be reused so you’ll always get the same uniform code. These XML files (typicals) are then imported into Typical Manager and linked to the corresponding objects in the library.

GENERATING PROJECTS WITH TYPICAL MANAGER

When the Typical Manager library is built up, the source files for a project can be generated. All separate XML files are put together in a smart and predetermined structure. You can determine this structure yourself! For example; build the structure based on your tag encodings.

IMPORT INTO TIA PORTAL

Using the TIA Openness scripter, the generated source files can be imported into the appropriate folders in your TIA Portal project with only one click. Simply generate the script for the scripter out of Typical Manager! Or generate the source files in a correct folder structure so that you can import them with the Version Control Interface of TIA Portal.

VERSION CONTROL INTERFACE

As of V16, TIA Portal features the Version Control Interface. With this standard TIA portal function, PLC objects can easily and quickly be exported to XML (or SCL) and vice versa! This makes it even easier to import the XML files generated by Typical Manager into TIA Portal.

Note: Unfortunately, HMI objects are not yet supported.
